Brave New World
I’ve really been enjoying getting back in to some “intentional” photography - going out for the day with my camera and seeing what I can find. The 5D Mk III is a great camera and I’ve been pleased with the pictures I’ve been making. However, as a gadget fan, the lure of new gear is always strong. So I started looking at mirrorless cameras and thinking about whether I should take the next step. I managed to borrow a Canon RP and took it to Portugal to test it out. It was a game changer. Being able to see exposure before you push the shutter button is fantastic. Long story short, I bit the bullet and bought a Canon R6 Mk III. It’s a brilliant camera. 32.5 megapixels hits the sweet spot as far as resolution goes, dual card slots takes care of on the fly backups, and 40fps handles sports and nature with ease.
For the past few months I’ve been doing as bit of everything - sports , street, music events, portraits and a bit of nature. I have thousands of pictures to sort through, but I’ll add them to the portfolio when I get some free time. In the meantime I’ll be out filling up more memory cards.
